How The Lucky Hatchet came into being

We (Mike & Jonah) were visiting Brandon while he was stationed in Florida in the Air Force. We were looking for something to do while we were out and about and we came across an axe venue. We did it and had a blast and had an idea to open one ourselves when we returned back home. This idea went in one ear and out the other, until me and Brandon were on our way to an Adam Sandler comedy show. We were trying to think of ways that we could start our own business, and we remembered the idea that we had to start our own axe venue. It was something we loved and it was something we all could do together. So we started doing research and then one thing led to another and 3 months later we opened.

Michael Dombkowski

Mike is a lifetime resident of Michigan City and enjoys video games, poker and cooking.

“I love to cook. I generally can cook anything if I'm at least given a recipe. I love to smoke foods on my smoker, most people say my pulled pork and brisket are the best they've ever had. We can cater mobile events as well!”

His favorite item to throw at The Lucky Hatchet is the spear due to the fact that most venues don’t offer something like that on the standard roster of throwables.
